Celebration of season 2016/17 – annual presentation night was a success

A short summary from last night’s presentation night that celebrated 2016/17 – our most successful season ever! Lots of participation, three titles from the Triathlon NSW Club Champs, Central West Interclub trophy, plus numerous individual performances. Well done to our President Mick Lockyer who ran the evening, and Matt Dean for calcs for age group winners. Watch for photos in OC Life this Thursday.

1. Family of Year: The Selwood Family
2. Club Person of the Year: Ali Dermody
3. Most Improved: Female: Trini Allen. Male: Jack Bilton
4. Junior Development Award: Female: Abby Dean. Male: Rory Thornhill
5. Performance Excellence: Estelle Dean
6. Best Performance: Connor Whiteley, 3rd at Australian All Schools, and member of victorious NSW relay team (note Piranha Lauren Kerwick was also a member)
7. Award from our two life members Tony Selwood and Steve Martin: person acknowledged for their amazing contribution through the season: Mick Lockyer
8. Handicap race: Kyle Ostini
9. Club Open: Female: Jess Richards. Male: Connor Whiteley

Age Group Winners: (eligibility required minimum 3 club races and 2 Interclub races – so not all age groups were contested)
Under 19: Jack Bilton
20-29: Dave Selwood
40-49: Estelle Dean, Dave Searle
50-59: Frank Ostini

Thanks to the Tudor family for hosting at Hotel Canobolas, James Robson for Ross Hill Wines gifts to award winners, and Scott Maunder from Orange City Council as special guest, so instrumental in getting Gosling Creek ready for Club Champs.

Your committee has started plans for next season and would like your input – there will be a survey later today (21 May) for your chance to tell us what you think. It will come to you through the club Facebook page and will close on 31 May, anonymous, and only take 5 mins to complete. Help us plan for an even better season 2017/18.
