Orange and District Relay for Life – April 1&2

The Orange Cycle and Triathlon Club have entered a team for Relay for Life on 1st & 2nd April 2017 in support of all of our members who have been affected in some way by cancer.

Relay For Life is a fun and moving overnight experience that raises vital funds for the Cancer Council’s research, prevention, information and support services. Through the funds raised at Relay For Life, more than 61,000 Australian lives have been saved over the last 20 years. Relay For Life is a chance for the Orange community  to recognise and celebrate those who have overcome cancer or are undergoing treatment, as well as the people who care for them. Relay also provides an opportunity to celebrate and honour the memory of loved ones lost to cancer and to raise money to help save more lives. The Cancer Council relies on the goodwill of donors, fundraisers and volunteers to fund their research and programs. By participating in Relay for Life, the Cancer Council can help to save more lives and ensure less people hear the words, ‘you have cancer’.

In particular, we would like to acknowledge Sandy Ostini and the Ostini family, who are fabulous supporters of our club, by turning out in force at Relay for Life this year. Sandy has been involved with the Cancer Council for nearly 20 years and has volunteered on each and every Relay for Life committee since its inception in Orange 15 years ago. If you can, please consider sparing an hour (or more!) over the weekend as a show of solidarity.
