Hi to Piranhas, Central West triathletes and other friends of the Orange Tri Club,

After a cracking pair of InterClub races last week in Cowra and Bathurst, the focus turns to Gosling Creek, Orange for 11 Feb Interclub. Here are some details:

  1. 0800: Junior 1: 100m swim (50m for beginner swimmers) | 2.4 km ride (2 x 1.2k loop) | 0.6 km run Guide: school year 3-4, age 7 – 10
  2. 0815: Junior 2: 200m swim | 6.6 km ride (3 x 2.2 km internal) | 1.2 km run Guide: school year 5 – 6, age 10 – 12
  3. 0845: Enticer: 300m swim | 8.8 km ride (4 x 2.2k internal) | 3.0 km run (2.5 x 1.2k) Minimum: school year 7 and above
  4. 0930: Interclub: 400m swim | 23 km bike (external) | 4.2 km run (3.5 x 1.2k) Minimum age 15. Male and female wave starts, 2 mins apart.
  5. Compulsory race briefing 15 mins before your race start time
  6. Entry fees:

Interclub: rego 0800 – 0900 am the earlier the better please :). We’d like Bathurst and Orange folks to rego early, easier then for Cowra, Mudgee and Dubbo who have furthest to travel. And Orange folks can help marshall once they’ve registered.

• $15 for Triathlon Australia members – note Piranhas pay today as well
• $25 for non-members
• $30 for teams
• $5 for all under 18 triathletes

Enticer: rego 0730 – 0815 am

• $10 for Triathlon Australia members
• $15 for non-members
• $15 for teams
• $5 for all under 18 triathletes

Juniors (under 18): All $5: rego 30 mins before your race start, race briefing 15 mins before. If you’re not sure what race to do, look at the swim distance and pick the race that matches your swim comfort.

We meet at the BBQ area in the heart of Gosling Creek. Note the new venue…don’t go to Lake Canobolas!

  1. Maps for courses are on the club website: https://octc.org.au/race-maps/
  2. Registration will be on the day only (no pre online rego). We expect 50 x Kinross students – you need to come to rego, say which race you will do and be marked off and pay the $5
  3. Enticer and Interclub placings go towards the Central West Interclub trophy

A couple of words on safety for athletes and parents:

  1. pls be aware the internal bike loop is between the toilet block and playground / transition – must be vigilant with bikes whizzing along there
  2. pls listen as there will be times when transition will open and close, and when you can take bikes out as rack space will be needed for later races
  3. your helmet must be a snug fit and be able to be buckled up – if not you cannot race

Note for Piranhas (and others who are more than welcome to attend) we have the third of our open water swim series on Wed 07 Feb. 5:45pm at Gosling…details in our race calendar.
