Triathlon season opener next weekend

The OCTC triathlon season kicks off next weekend (30th October) out at Lake Canobolas, and we are hoping to see as many of you there as possible. In the event that the Lake is too cold to swim, it will be replaced with a duathlon. We will advise of this closer to the weekend, in order to give extra time for the Lake to (hopefully) warm up.

The event will be free to all OCTC members who have registered and paid their membership fee with Triathlon Australia. We have been made aware that there were some errors that occurred with automatic membership renewals, and we are encouraging all members who did not have their fee deducted from their nominated credit card to contact Triathlon Australia to fix this.

The distances being raced are:

  • Midgets
  • Juniors
  • Short Internal
  • Short External
  • Enticer
  • Sprint

Each person racing with a timing chip will need to register at the desk before each race of the season in order to get accurate race results with minimal difficulties for the time keepers. If you do not register and state your distance and timing chip number before each race you will not be eligible for club champion points.

We are still searching for a few more volunteers to fill some spots for the season. This year the jobs have been divided into specific ‘tasks’ that are completed by multiple volunteers. If there is a particular job that interests you please email octc@octc.org.au or message the Tri Club on Facebook. We appreciate all of the members who have already put their hand up.

Looking forward to seeing as many Piranhas out at the Lake as possible, let’s start preparing for the NSW Club Championships next year!
