OTC is again hosting the TNSW Junior Super Sprint Triathlon Championships at Gosling Creek this weekend.
This event was first started 3 years ago to give our Juniors in the Central West an opportunity to participate in a weekend of State Level Triathlon coaching and racing without the need to travel. This weekend is now the Premier Short Course Junior Triathlon weekend in NSW and part of the TNSW Junior Pathway Programme, bringing together Junior Triathletes from all over the state, interstate and all triathlon abilities.
Mick Delamotte is the NSW Junior Pathway Coach and is bringing 4 athletes from Spain to add an international flavour to the event, also NSW Professional Triathlete Nathan Breen will be on course to commentate the 2 days of racing. Triathlon NSW will be represented at the event by the Executive Director Adam Wicks and TNSW President Glen Schwarzel.
We are still looking for some volunteers to help over the weekend. Please email OTC at firstname.lastname@example.org if you can spare any time this weekend. Positions we still need to fill are:
Friday afternoon from 3.00pm to finish transition, recovery and course set up – all hands on deck
7.30am to 9.30am – Transition Marshals for bike racking – 2 helpers needed
Midday to 1.30pm athlete and coaches lunch
1.30pm to 5.00pm (shorter shifts if you can help) – Course Marshals ( mount and dismount lines – general direction marshals ) – 3 helpers needed
1.30pm to 5.00pm – Recovery Marshals, (smaller shifts if you can help) – 2 helpers needed
7.30am to 9.45am – Transition Marshals for bike racking – 2 helpers needed
9am to 11.30am BBQ sausage sizzle
8.30am to 11.30am (smaller shifts if you can help) – Course Marshals (mount and dismount lines – general direction marshals ) – 5 helpers needed
8.30am to 11.30am – Recovery Marshals, Timing Chip return (smaller shifts if you can help) – 2 helpers needed
11.15am – Transition, recovery and course pack up – all hands on deck
1.30pm – OTC Thank you Shed Pizza Party – Beers, wine, softies and pizza – all welcome
