HAPPY NEW YEAR and HAPPY NSW CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS 2017!
To all OCTC Members, Family and Friends
HAPPY NEW YEAR and HAPPY NSW CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS 2017.
The countdown is on to the NSW Club Championships to be held here in Orange at beautiful Gosling Creek, and when I say countdown, it is only 10 weeks away on 18 March 2017.!
IT IS TIME TO DECLARE. With the calibre of athlete in our club, membership base, age group spread and home ground advantage, OCTC has a very strong chance of winning “Best Country Club”. But we will need everyone available-:
- Every competitor receives participation points and if you finish in the top 25 in your age group you receive either performance points or “block” points from our competitors.
- If you can not compete, by volunteering you will receive points towards the club total.
- Or you can dress in Orange and cheer the “Piranhas” to victory.
More information on the event from Tri NSW (including the points system) is available here: Pointscoring system for the 2017 Club Championships
We need to start compiling our team, it is important we have numbers in every age group. When you enter please email the club octc@octc.org.au with your name(s) and the age group you will compete within. If you are speaking to fellow members remind them to enter and send their details. I need to “call out” the 20 and 30 year olds in our club, “WE NEED YOU” and your friends. Let’s all rally together and show the rest of the state what we already know, Orange is a “powerhouse” of triathlon.
The weekend is not only about the race, it is a total event culminating in a huge presentation night. We are putting together a weekend package that will be released very soon including-:
- Event shirt
- Club tent at the finish line with food, drinks, massage, etc.
- Club dinner and drinks at Hotel Canobolas after the race.
- Event presentation at Orange Ex-Services Club
- Recovery breakfast at beautiful Ross Hill Winery.
It is an exciting year for OCTC and the Piranhas, don’t miss out on this great event. Enter now, send your details and save the date.
Race hard, fair and with OCTC pride.
