A WORLD title was all it took for Brian Kennelly to be crowned the 2012 Orange Credit Union Sportsperson of the Year last night.
Orange’s sporting stars and their successes from 2012 were celebrated last night at the annual presentation.
Kennelly took out the senior prize, ahead of six other finalists, all of whom had won a national title or competed on an international stage.
Last year Kennelly represented Australia at the ITU World Triathlon Age Championships in New Zealand.
He took out the men’s 60-64 years Olympic distance event, finishing the 1500m swim, 40km ride and 10km run in two hours, 20 minutes and 55 seconds.
It was his third time representing Australia at the world championships.
