2015 Ironman World Championships Hawaii – Piranha “Kona” Get Together
This weekend two of our very own Piranhas, Jessica Richards and Kim Dale, are competing in the pinnacle of triathlon events – the 2015 Ironman World Championships in Hawaii – a 3.8km open water swim, 180km bike leg along the lava fields and finishing with a 42.2km run.
To give them as much virtual support as we can and to celebrate when they cross the finish line we are having a little get together at the Hotel Canobolas on Sunday 11th October.
Phil Tudor has generously offered the upstairs media room for our little party. Food and drink can be ordered from the Hotel and you can bring the kids.
The live stream coverage from Kona starts from 3am our time and can viewed via www.ironman.com. You can also follow the ladies via the athlete Tracker tool on the website which will show multiple time splits for the bike and run.
The start waves are 3:25am Pro Men, 3:30am Pro Women, 3:55am Age Group Men and 4:10am Age Group Women (Jess and Kim).
But why watch it alone at home on your laptop when you can join with your Piranha club mates and we can watch it together. We will set up the live stream at the Hotel Canobolas from 11am, just before the first of the pro men are due to finish and will continue the party until at least after we see Jess and Kim cross that finish line.
I know many of you will be attending the Interclub event in Cowra but feel free to come after you return home or join us anytime from 11am.
Come and celebrate the awesome achievement by Jess and Kim in this very special event.
