OPEN RACE (CLUB CHAMPS) & PRESENTATION 16th MARCH

Hi all

The former ‘Club Championships’ AKA ‘Open Race’ will be held this Sunday 16th March. This is the last race of the season to accrue points towards the 2013-2014 Male & Female Club Champions. The first male and female from the Piranhas to cross the finish line in the Sprint race will also be crowned.

With 6 of the 12 Age Group Champions to be decided, it will be worth your while to get down to Lake Canobolas to race.

Registrations from 8am, with the following usual races:

Midgets 50m – 600m – 400m @ 8:45am

Juniors 80m – 2km – 800m @ 9:15am

Short Internal – 150m – 5km – 1km @ 10am

Short External – 150m – 6km – 1km @ 10am

Mid – 150m – 10km – 2.5km  @ 10am

Long – 400m – 20km – 5km @ 10am

Sprint (Open) Race –  750m – 20km – 5km @ 10am. (You gotta be in it to win it!)

Don’t forget to self-seed in the swim with such a big field (hopefully) starting at 10am. No timing system this week, so we will be back to the old school spreadsheet, drawn on texta race numbers and a stopwatch. If you want to time your splits, wear your watch!

No BBQ this week. We would appreciate everyone’s help to pack down so that we can get sorted for presentations as soon as possible. On that note, if anyone can lend a hand on Saturday from around 5pm to set up (weather permitting) we’d love to see you there.

Presentations commence at the Hotel Canobolas from 4pm (feel free to get down there earlier if you feel like some chicken wings and / or amber ale). The formalities will start at around 5pm. The club will put a small tab behind the bar to reward everyone for their hard work.

Dinner afterwards at own cost – the more the merrier!

If you would still like some input into the other awards for the day, please email octc@octc.org.au

These awards are:
