Big month already and still plenty of chances to train and race
Hi Piranhas
A huge thankyou to everyone who made the Round 2 of the Billigence Pathway Series – Mixed Relay and Super Sprint Championship 2024 (aka the Juniors weekend) such a great success.
In particular we want to thank Orange City Council, Orange Bush Nippers, Orange Physiotherapy, NSW Triathlon (including Adam Wicks CEO and Deanna Waters President), Robyn Low Hart the NSW Tri Pathways Leader, Aus Tri Technical Officials, the athletes, coaches and parents and our terrific OTC Committee and our dedicated band of volunteers from the club, Orange Runners Club, LMU and parents.
Its such a fantastic event and a terrific opportunity to contribute to the development of the young and upcoming athletes from Orange and across NSW and ACT.
It also serves as a valuable fundraiser for the club and helps keep our member costs low. We are looking forward to hosting the event again in 2025.
There is over 300 photos from the weekend on the NSW Triathlon Facebook page.
FRIDAY NIGHT TWILIGHT SERIES STARTS THIS WEEK 15/11/2024
For the coming four friday evenings we are offering a Friday Night Twilight Series. These are training sessions with no timing but a goal to improve your skills and have some fun of an evening as we lead into the end of the year. You can go out hard or take your time developing your skills. It’s multiple short sharp events – you pick from a short triathlon/duathlon/open water swim/aquabike or aquathon.
Each event will start at 6:00pm, 6:25pm and 6:50pm with the aim to be finished around 7:30pm. You pick your event, pick your times and decide if you want to do 1, 2 or all 3.
If you knock off work late feel free to join us for the later ones. You can also choose to do race 1 and race 3, whilst you recover during race 2. The bike leg is held on the internal track, away from cars.
Schedule
Meet at the tri shed, Gosling Creek at 5:15pm to receive or give help on how to rack your bike.
Set up from 5:15pm at Gosling Creek for events at 6:00pm, 6:25pm. 6:50pm
Take your pick from the options here, and choose to do any of them once, twice or thrice:
Open Water Swim – One lap (270m) or two laps (540m)
Small Loop Triathlon – 140m swim, 4.4km bike, 1km run
(young Piranhas- 20-50m swim, 1.1km bike, 500m run)
Aquabike – 270m swim, 4.4km bike
Duathlon – 500m run, 4.4km bike, 1km run
Aquathon – 270m swim, 1km run
The idea is that each participant will do the distance (or individual legs) that allows them to finish and recover in time for the next event start if you choose to do more than 1.
If any of the distances are a challenge use these events to modify as needed and improve each week.
Come out and give it a go. Members and new comers welcome.
Cost – Free
NEXT CLUB EVENT is this Sunday 17/11/2024
