Breaking the Ice report and strength session 12 Oct @ 6pm
Hi Piranhas and friends,
- Breaking the Ice season opener duathlon 08 Oct @ Gosling Creek
We had a very successful season opener with our Super Sprint and Sprint duathlons and then breaking the ice at Gosling Creek last Sunday. A brisk start to the morning warmed up and water temp maybe 14 degrees for the 12 hardy souls who dunked (‘broke the ice’) after the races.
Go Felix, six years old doing his first multi sport event (Mum Louisa supporting him)
We had lots of new members: Ash, Pete, Jo, Liam, Ethan (joined mid last season), Ben, Elsie, and Logan sitting at the front with their welcome towels and also received their swim caps
All photos from the great Justin Stent.
2. Strength session at Orange Family Physio (24 William St) at 6pm tonight 12 Oct
A reminder for members we are very fortunate for Erica Eccleston to line up Exercise Physiologist Dave Stelling for a strength training session at Orange Family Physiotherapy, 24 William St from 6 – 7pm. This will be part education and part practical, and is a key part of the triathlete toolkit to reduce the chance of injury. Pls email octc@octc.org.au if you will attend so we know numbers for Dave.
3. Good luck Sam Bayada and Will Ward for Canberra Duathlon this weekend
Sam and Will are racing at Stromlo Forest Park on 15 Oct in the Capital Duathlon – we wish them both well after their controlled hitout at our own duathlon last Sunday.
4. Membership – the earlier you join, the more events you can have a go in
Now is a good time to become a member of Australia Triathlon and Orange Tri Club by following this link to membership – the earlier you join the more value you get from your membership! We have another duathlon on 05 Nov and then Mudgee Interclub on Sun 19 Nov. Join now and no entry fees for the rest of the season!
