Club Champs results and End of Season Wrap

In sunny, hot conditions at Gosling Creek, OTC held its final event of the year, which included the annual Sprint Club Champs event. We had 33 athletes across our three events. Well done to everyone who was out there and congrats to our podiums:

End of Season for 2022/23

The Club Champs was the last event for our big season. We held 7 x Fri twilights, 4 x Sun club events (would have been 6 but 2 washouts before Christmas), massive Juniors weekend with 120 athletes, Sandy Ostini memorial event, and away for 3 Interclub events with Mudgee, Bathurst and Dubbo.

We have great facilities and ‘know how’ on how to run safe and fun triathlons, and gear we can loan out for newbies. Our challenge is two fold next season:

  1. how we increase our membership following the Covid dip, and
  2. get our awesome members to travel to Mudgee and Dubbo so we have a red hot crack at InterClub next season!  (We had Orange and Bathurst events covered this season)

Thank you to the Orange Bush Nippers, Orange Physio, and our race day volunteers. Great to have the triathlon community with Tristan’s Triple Threats squad and the Kinross Wolaroi tri squad led by Penny, Kate and Iain. We always like having KWS attendance as our athlete numbers double!

The final thank you to Carolyn, Cas, Dan, Megan, Penny, Steve, Scott, Simon and Tim – these are your committee who meet once a month and prep before each event, and then feature in the volunteering on race day. They do an outstanding job and a big thank you to them on behalf of all of our members.

We will post in early April the date of our presentation and AGM. Good luck to those with events still on the calendar, qualifying for Townsville Aug 2024 and otherwise enjoy your off season.
