INTERCLUB POINTS ACCRUAL
This season the clubs have decided to accrue points towards the Interclub championship a little differently.
Points scores will be added up as normal for each age group/gender (11 points for 1st, 10 points for second down to 1 point for 10th place).
In addition to the points awarded in each age/gender category, additional points will be awarded for the overall male and female placegetters, with 1st place getting 5 points, 2nd place 4 points down to 5th place which will be awarded 1 point. These points will count for the Interclub results as well as an overall Best Male and Female prize.
As usual, competitors will be awarded 1 point for finishing if they do not place in the top ten in their age group and EVERY POINT COUNTS!
The biggest change to the calculation of Interclub points will be that the total number of points awarded to each club will be divided by the number of members of that club aged 14 and above as at 31/12/2014 (as per the ITU date).
This means that clubs with fewer member numbers can be far more competitive than in previous years. It also means that Orange (as one of the largest clubs in the comp) cannot afford to be complacent! We need as many members as possible to come out firing on 23 November!
REGISTRATION
Registration is from 8am to 9:15am.
Please note that we will again be opening an online registration page for this event. The link will be released as soon as the page is operational. Please take the time to register your details online as this will make the morning of the event far less hectic, and you will only need to line up to pay your registration fees.
Fees are $5 for Juniors, $15 for Triathlon Australia members competing in the Short Internal or Interclub event + an additional $10 for non-TA members to cover day licences (e.g $25 total for non-TA members). Midgets are free.
Please note that this year we have also introduced a team event for the Interclub race, although no interclub points will be awarded for team placings. Individual team members will be required to pay $5 each + $10 if not a TA member.
RACES
Races will be as follows:
Midgets 50m – 400m – 200m @ 8:30am
Juniors 80m – 2km – 400m @ 8:45am
Short Internal – 150m – 5km – 1.2km @ 9am
Interclub 400m – 20km – 5km @ 9:30am
There will be a BBQ afterwards so please stick around and say hello to our friends from throughout the region.
CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS
Interclub is typically a huge event in Orange, and with lots of people competing, we need even more volunteers in order to make the event a success. The volunteer spreadsheet is attached, which illustrates just how much help we require. PLEASE email octc@octc.org.au with your availability to volunteer. Any unfilled roles will be allocated to club members if they have not been filled by volunteers so if you would like a say in what you do, you need to reply. Don’t forget that you can nominate a family member or proxy to fill your role!
Please note that due to the size and scale of the event, transition set up will be competed on Saturday 22 November from 5pm, rather than on the morning of the event.

PRIZES
This year we are also looking for donations for random prizes which are typically awarded at the completion of the event. If you or your business is able to donate a prize or prizes, please also reply to this email to let us know.
Interclub is a big thing in the Central West Triathlon calendar. We really look forward to seeing lots of old and new Orange faces out at the lake on Sunday 23 November!
