THIS WEEKEND – “Juniors Weekend’ – Round 3 of the Billigence NSW/ACT Pathway Series.
NSW Super Sprint & NSW Mixed Relay Championships – Youth, Junior and Under 23.
This weekend we will welcome 130+ Youth, Junior and Under 23’s (along with their families, coaches and training academies) from across NSW and the ACT to Gosling Creek.
If you have put your hand up for volunteering over the weekend we thank you so much in advance. If you are still considering how you can help the club please jump on to our Try Booking link – https://www.trybooking.com/CNJAG to get involved. Other avenues to reach out include our email octc@octc.org.au or Megan on 0403 200 342.
Race weekends of this nature are a critical part of the TNSW / TACT Development Pathway, as they allow athletes to learn valuable lessons required to mould their triathlon careers including building resilience, grittiness and draft legal racing in all kinds of conditions. With the weather forecast predicting rain for much of the weekend the athletes and volunteers will certainly have their work cut out for them. Please bring suitable clothing and methods of remaining as dry as possible if you are joining us. There will be lots of comraderie and fun to be had too. If you have some time drop out to Gosling over the weekend to see some fantastic race action.
We encourage our junior members to either join in for the non drafting race on sunday morning.
Online Registrations have been extended and now close on Friday 24th November at 5:00pm. Don’t miss out.
You must be a Triathlon Australia member to race. Races start at 8am so arrive early.
Costs Sunday morning only – Orange Junior Event Non drafting 7-9yrs $16.50 and 10-11yrs $16.50.
Entry link – once you are in your Justgo Triathlon membership portal
Friday Night Twilight Series – Continues this Friday – Two more weeks – 24/11/2023 and 1/12/2023
The second twilight session for 2023/2024 saw another keen bunch of members taking on multiple short triathlons. This friday night we continue the sessions, weather permitting (and yes we will most likely get wet with the predicted rain). We look forward to seeing you all again this Friday at 5:15pm and welcome many more. If you aren’t coming out to race but can help out with the setup for the Juniors weekend we welcome you too – from 4pm to 7:30pm.
This is a training event series – there will be no timing. You can go out hard or take your time developing your skills.
Both members and people new to triathlon/duathlon are welcome as its a great way to try the different legs and build confidence in putting them all together.
This is also a great opportunity to get some fun practice in before the Mudgee Interclub, the Sandy Ostini Ladies Event on saturday 9/12/2023 and other races.
You pick from a short triathlon/duathlon/swim, aquabike or aquathon – each event will start at 6:00pm, 6:25pm and 6:50pm, so pick your times, and do 1, 2 or all 3!
If you knock off work late feel free to join us for the later ones. You can also choose to miss the 2nd event if you need more time to recover in between.
The bike leg is held on the excellent internal track, away from cars. Meet at the shed at 5:15pm to receive or give help on how to rack your bike.
Set up from 5:15pm at Gosling Creek for events at 6:00pm, 6:25pm. 6:50pm
Take your pick from the options here, and choose to do any of them once, twice or thrice:
Open Water Swim – One lap (270m) or two (540m)
Small Loop Triathlon – 140m swim, 4km bike, 1km run (amended for the young Piranhas- 20-50m swim, 1km bike, 500m run)
Aquabike – 270m swim, 4km bike
Duathlon – 400m run, 4km bike, 1km run
Aquathon – 270m swim, 1km run
The idea is that each participant will do the distance (or an individual legs) that allows them to finish and recover in time for the next event start if you choose to do more than 1.
Come out and give it a go.
MUDGEE INTERCLUB – Sunday 19th November 2023
