The NSW All Schools Triathlon Championships were held over 26-27th Feb at Penrith International Regatta Centre. The annual event gives all high schools a chance to compete both as individuals and teams for Overall State honours as well as podium positions within their school divisions – being Independent Schools, Catholic Schools and Government Schools. Quite a number of junior Piranha club members competed in the hot and humid conditions to do both their school and their club proud.

Congratulations to Lauren Kerwick (representing Orange High School) and Connor Whiteley (representing Kinross Wolaroi) who qualified to represent NSW at the 2015 School Sport National Championships in Penrith on 29th April. These two triathletes are Western Region Academy of Sport team members and coached by HyPER/WRAS coach Mel Ashton-Garard and they competed in the individual events on Thursday. Lauren won the overall female Intermediate category and Connor placed 3rd in the overall male Intermediate category. This was an outstanding achievement by both juniors who have trained extremely hard in preparation for the event and received a well deserved result for their efforts.

On the Friday the team events were held and a number of local teams comprising Piranhas juniors competed. The Kinross Intermediate team of Josh Chai, Sam Broadley and Connor Whiteley placed 1st in the state overall and received 1st place in the Independent School Division. Many of the other local teams did extremely well to place just out of the overall podium positions but received podium positions within their school divisions.

Congratulations to all the Piranha juniors who raced at All Schools. Well done!!
