Orange Interclub Sun 11 Feb @ Gosling Creek. Plus Bush Nipper trivia opportunity
Hello Piranhas and Friends,
This Sunday is our second biggest event of the season (after Juniors Weekend) with us hosting round 3 of the Central West Interclub Series. And it is neck and neck with Mudgee and Bathurst after two rounds – this Sunday is crucial!
Athletes register here: You must register by 6pm on Sat 10 Feb – no ‘on the day’

Entry is free to Central West Club tri members who hold Aus Tri membership. Non members is $30 Sprint, $20 Super Sprint, $5 Zoom. No rego on the day as timing chips need to be pre allocated.
For our members and friends who can support us with set up or marshalling or BBQ or rego: pls book here
For our members who race the Super Sprint or Sprint, it would be great if you can marshall at transition for the alternate event or turn a sausage on the BBQ.
Beside the finisher’s BBQ and recovery, we will have lucky door prize tables of goodies from great local supporters like Swinging Bridge Wines, DG Cycles and Velo-city – plus other local produce that will see our prize tables sinking under the weight of prizes!
Hope as many Piranhas and volunteers can be there. Register now!
Sprint bike course heads up:
We will have a briefing before the event, but we want to point out a few things for the 23km bike leg (‘Airport Loop’ shared with cars).
- There is a very bumpy section of the course at about 11km point on Aerodrome Rd about 200m before the left hand turn before the Airport, and the stretch of road in from of the Airport. We have made this a no pass zone (‘neutral zone’ so you cannot overtake in this section). Note we expect this section to be relaid before the 2025 Orange Interclub
- There is roadwork south of the ‘big dipper’ on Huntley Rd – this is at about the 15km point – Council believe this will be sealed by the end of this week – this is marked yellow on the attached map

In other news:
The Orange Tri Club has booked a table of 10 for the Orange Bush Nippers Trivia Night on Sat 10 Feb at 6pm at Orange Bowling Club. It will be a great night to support our water marshalls. Food available from The Phat Panda or bring own supper, and drinks are at the bar.
The club will subsidise half your ticket, so it is only $10 a head. We have 5 seats left – first come first served! All you need to do is email octc@octc.org.au and let us know how many seats you want and we will respond if you were first in. You just need to pay Dave Hunter on the night.
Finally, we have had to cancel our Open Water Series that we planned for Feb – just missing the correct number of volunteers.
