This is our annual handicap race and teams relay. It will be a duathlon with Gosling still a bit too fresh for swimming. It’s fast and fun racing, all done inside Gosling. It is also great Grand Prix style racing in preparation for those going to Mudgee interclub on 19 Nov. And as it is the day of Hawaii Ironman, Hawaiian themed outfits might get time bonuses!
0830: Rego at the shelter near the BBQ at Gosling Creek.
0850: Safety briefing
0900: Handicap event: duathlon of 400m run | 6km bike (3 x 2km internal bike loops) | 1.2km run
Handicapper Mick Lockyer will give participants their time handicap at 0845, with the idea that Piranhas finish at about the same time. So someone like Dave Searle may start at +3:00, which means he starts 3 minutes after the scratch markers. If you are new to the club, you will be looked after as between you and Mick we will be able to work out a handicap time for you.
1000: Teams event: A preliminary sketch of how this works:
Handicapper Mick will put folks into teams of 2 (if you really want to form your own team, he will probably let you, but you might incur a time handicap!) and each team does the following x 3:
Run 400m | Bike 6km | Run 1.2km (parents can have their kids run or bike one of the legs – it is a morning of participation)
Free for members.
For non members: Adults: $15, 13 – 18 yr olds $10, <13 yrs old = $5
