A bumper season ahead in 22/23

Hi Orange Tri Club members and friends,

As most of you know, the club held its Annual General Meeting last Sunday 31 Jul, followed by the presentation of season 21/22 awards.

At the AGM, there was a change of guard with the club’s management committee. A big vote of gratitude for Jess Wallace, Andrew Commins, Greg Thornton, Tristan Harrison, and Phil Tudor who have stepped off the committee, and a warm welcome to Cas Ingham, Penny Chandler-Sullivan, Simon Lun, and Dan Benton who have joined. A shout out to Steve Martin who has decided to stay on the committee but step back from President duties – a job hugely well done over a Covid disrupted few years.

Our annual awards were given out after the AGM and the winners will be recognised in a separate post.

The new committee has already met and the season plans are virtually locked in. More details will come in a month or so, with the first event a club duathlon and ‘Breaking of the Ice’ on Sun 09 Oct. We aim for a Sunday club event each month from Oct thru to Mar, plus 4 Central West interclub events, a Fri twilight series in Nov and an open water series in Jan / Feb. I’ve revealed more than I probably should! There will be some other training type sessions sprinkled in to give our members heaps of options.

With all this good stuff ahead, now is a good time for those who haven’t yet to renew their membership or join our club for the first time. You can do this if you click on this link  with lots of info and the benefits. If you join before 31 Aug you could win a trip to any Australian qualifying event in Australia from Triathlon Australia, or prizes from Triathlon NSW. And when you join you also get an Orange Tri Club swim cap – a few were on show at Orange Aquatic on Monday!

Much more info to come,

Thanks, Dave

Dave Hunter
President for season 22/23, on behalf of the club committee
