Some more reasons to join Orange Tri Club

Hi Piranhas and friends of the club,

In last week’s newsletter I posted up our Orange Triathlon Club (OTC) 23/24 season calendar – we have 18 events this season! I encourage people to join or renew (we got 3 more members this week) and here’s the link that takes you to the Triathlon Australia site to join TA and OTC.

Some more reasons to join, especially for those new to the sport:

  • we have bikes we will lend out – tell us your size – we might not have every size covered but we’ll give it a go to help you – we definitely have a Womens’ size 48
  • we have some used tri suits we will lend out (thanks in particular Dean and Martin families)
  • we have terrific facilities with well marked open water swim at Gosling Creek, closed circuit 2km bike / run loop, easy set up and pack up with customised shed
  • we offer safe events with marshalls on long boards, signage on course and safety briefings before every event – and special chaperone for first timers
  • we’ve just purchased some Zone 3 swim buoys (picture below) that we will lend out – you clip to your waist for those who might be new to open water swimming and can easily be seen, and something to lean on if you need a breath while you’re swimming (along with the long boards on course)
  • and an OTC swim cap and towel when you come to your first OTC event

Well done Emma Fessey

  • Congratulations to new member Emma Fessey who was third in her Female 25-29 age group at Sunshine Coast 70.3 on 10 Sep at Mooloolaba – wow that’s a stunning result, well done Emma – I think she’d just taken delivery of a new bike which might have contributed!
