Tri Club Members can now race with the Orange Cycle Club!

Dear All
The Orange Cycle and Triathlon Club has negotiated to co-sanction the Cycle Club’s road races for 2016 and 2017.  As a result, anyone with a Cycling Australia or Triathlon Australia license will be able to race the OCC fortnightly Road Races.  This is a great opportunity to see our race numbers grow and for the Triathlon community to jump in and get involved in some fantastic bunch racing in a supportive and social environment.
Some important details are as follows.
  • When and where – first race will be at 3.00pm on Saturday 8 October for a handicap race on the Mt Pleasant circuit, then fortnightly after that.  Sign on is 30 minutes before the start time, but perhaps turn up a bit earlier for the first race so we can get everyone graded properly.  Keep and eye on the Club website for race dates, times and locations.
  • Grades – there are usually 4 Grades, with A Grade a tough hit out for the hard men and women and D Grade for those looking for a more gentle experience.
  • Cost – Entry fees have been reduced to $5 per person, $2.50 for juniors and $10 for a family.  Cash prizes will no longer be offered, just bragging rights!
  • Rules – For insurance purposes, Cycling NSW and Tri NSW require that the rules of BOTH organisations are followed. Its worth being aware of the following.
    • Licenses – Please bring proof of membership to each race.
    • Road bikes only.  Tri bars cannot be used (except in time trials).
    • Juniors may race with seniors as follows.
    • U13 riders (turning 11 and 12 in 2017) may ride with an accompanying, licenced adult.
    • U15 riders (turning 13 and 14 in 2017) may ride with parental permission
    • Roll outs apply as follows
    • U13 – 5.5m
    • U15 – 6.0m
    • U17 – 7.0m
If you have any questions please contact myself or Craig Healy. We look forward to seeing you on 8 October.
